| The neo-classical Palais de la Nation/Paleis der Natie, seen from the northern gate of Brussels Park on Rue de la Loi/Wetstraat, in Brussels' eastern city centre. It dates from 1783 and served as a council house, then a court during French occupation, before becoming the home of the Belgian Federal Parliament when Belgium became independent from the Netherlands in 1830. |
