| Across from the St Nicholas Church on the Alter Markt stands Potsdam's old town hall, dating from 1755 and topped with a statue of Atlas balancing the world on his shoulders. Due to heavy damage in WWII, it was rebuilt as a cultural house and exhibition hall. |
