| Sanssouci is the former summer palace of Prussian king Frederick the Great, considered a German rival of Versailles; its name derives from the French phrase sans souci ("without worries"). The rococo-style palace, looking up its famed tiered southern garden facade, was built in 1747, and Heritage-listed in 1990. |
