| A featured sculpture of the outdoor Loggia della Signoria is Giambologna's "Hercules beating the Centaur Nessus" from the Greek Hercules legend, sculpted from a solid block of white marble in 1599 and placed in the Loggia in 1841. Hercules killed Nessus, whose tainted blood in turn eventually killed Hercules. |
