| Looking down the Street Called Straight (Via recta in Latin), the Roman-era street running east to west through the Old City. Saul of Tarsus (later Saint Paul) was blinded by a vision of the risen Christ on the road to Damascus and immediately converted to the religion he had previously persecuted others for, and was later baptised on this street. |
