| Dating from 17AD, the Temple of Ba'al Shamin was dedicated to the Phoenician god of storms; this shrine is all that remains of a much larger compound. It was sadly detonated by ISIL in August 2015; following the recapture of Palmyra in 2016, it is to be rebuilt from its remains. |
