| Across the road from the north-eastern corner of Boston Common stands the golden-domed Massachusetts State House, the state capitol and seat of government for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Completed in January 1798, it is one of the oldest state capitols in current use, housing the Massachusetts General Court and the offices of the Governor of Massachusetts. |
