| The Benjamin Franklin Bridge over the Delaware River, opened in 1926 and linking the state of Pennsylvania (this bank) to Camden in the state of New Jersey (far bank), from Penn's Landing in Philadelphia. Originally named the South River by Dutch colonists in 1609, it was renamed when England took control of the Dutch settlements along it in 1664. |
