New York's City Hall, standing in its eponymous park in Lower Manhattan, built between 1803-12; labour disputes and outbreaks of yellow fever slowed down its construction. It is the seat of New York City government, housing the office of the Mayor of New York City and the chambers of the New York City Council. Tweed Courthouse stands in the northern half of the park behind it.
