Looking west from the Great Southern Tower to the cathedral's magnificent twin gothic towers, 82m tall, over its western entrance. The first church on this site was a Romanesque rotunda built by Wenceslaus I, duke of Bohemia, in 930AD; he had acquired a holy relic - the arm of Saint Vitus - from emperor Henry I.
