| Looking southeast from the saddleback Hálsur underneath Klakkur, over Klaksvík, with the peak of Háfjall (648m high, right of picture) visible. Originally four scattered villages settled from the Viking ages, these merged in 1938 to form the town of Klaksvík, and is the commercial and cultural centre of the northern Faroe Islands. |
