Saint Olav's Church in Kirkjubøur, in the south of the island of Streymoy, about 20km south of the capital Tórshavn. The medieval church was built before 1200AD - with the tower dating from 1855 - making it the oldest church in the country, and still in use today. Until the Reformation, it was the seat of the Catholic bishop and served as the Faroes' religious centre.
