Looking north up Broad Street, the major north-south axis through central Philadelphia, to the southern face of its City Hall (with its tower topped with a statue of William Penn, the state of Pennsylvania's founder). It is one of the earliest planned streets in the United States, planned by surveyor Thomas Holme and developed for Philadelphia in 1681.
