| Further down Andrássy útca in the city's heart is the neo-Renaissance State Opera House. Completed in 1884 and funded by Austrian emperor Franz Joseph, it's still in use, boasting excellent acoustics. One of the statues in the front is Franz Liszt, Hungary's best-known composer.
