| Walking along the Madina souq, forming the Old City's main east-west pedestrianised axis, connecting Bab Antakya in the west to the citadel in the east; it is also Syria's (and possibly the world's) longest covered souq. Many sections were sadly destroyed in 2012 as a result of fighting between government and opposition forces during the Syrian Civil War. |
