| At the end of East 43rd Street in the eastern part of Midtown Manhattan stands the United Nations Secretariat Building, containing the offices of the executive organ of the United Nations. Completed in 1951, the 154-metre tall building is technically under UN jurisdiction, and so is exempt from some United States regulations. |
