| At the eastern end of Paul Revere Mall stands an equestrian statue of the American activist, installed in 1940. Paul Revere was a Patriot - a colonial opposed to British rule - and was best known for his midnight ride to alert the colonial militia in April 1775 to the approach of British forces before the battles of Lexington and Concord, which sparked the American Revolutionary War. |
