| Looking east to the Arcade du Cinquantenaire/Arcade van het Jubelpark, started in 1880 to celebrate 50 years of independence (eventually completed in 1905). The centrepiece triple arch is called the Cinquantenaire Arch (Arc du Cinquantenaire/Triomfboog van het Jubelpark), with a quadriga and a female charioteer, personifying the Province of Brabant raising the national flag. |
