| The landmark Atomium on Boulevard du Centenaire/Eeuwfeestlaan, in Laeken, north-western Brussels. Built as the centrepiece of the 1958 World Fair opposite the Brussels Expo Building, the 103m-tall monument represents a unit cell of an iron crystal (body-centred cubic), magnified 165 billion times. The top sphere includes a restaurant with a panoramic view of Brussels. |
