| Looking across the Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia (Square of Unified Italy) from the harbourside on the Gulf of Trieste; visible are the Palazzo del Governo (extreme left of picture), and the Palazzo Comunale (town hall) straight ahead. Built under then-Austrian government, the square is the focus of Trieste's old town.
