| After the Mole silted up, the Swakopmund Jetty opened in 1905, 262m long, rebuilt with steel in 1914; it became a pedestrian walkway after WWI. Declared structurally unsound and closed in 1983, renovations (and the addition of a seafood restaurant and sushi bar) allowed the jetty to reopen in 2010. |
