| Overlooking the Sound of Raasay on the eastern coast of the Isle of Skye stands the Storr: the group of oddly-shaped rock pinnacles are the remains of ancient volcanic plugs. The best renown of these is known as the "Old Man of Storr" (centre of picture, with the visible peak): legend claims the Little People (faeries) turned him into stone. |
