| Old volcanic activity over 61 million years ago is visible in the unique stripes of sandstone and the molten columns of Kilt Rock (in the rockface beyond the waterfall), along the eastern coast of the Isle of Skye, in western Scotland. Fossils are still being carefully extracted from the cliff face. |
