| Walking west along Rua Arronches Junqueiro, the recently-pedestrianised east-west axis through Setúbal's historic centre. A paper released in 2018 on archaeological excavations from building sites in this street revealed torrential rain and slope erosion may have destroyed Neolithic habitation here: the terrain had been rehabilitated by Roman-era geology and occupied ever since. |
