| The Villa of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, on the corner of Avenida Dr. Manuel de Arriaga and Rua Alferes Pinto Vidigal. The villa, long abandoned, still bears azulejos (ceramic tiles) of its presumed owner, an industrialist (fishery owner or canner) and his wife and daughters. It is named for the large tile (centre of picture) with the image of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (the Virgin Mary). |
