| Berlin's neo-Renaissance Parliament building, on Platz der Republik at sunset, a notable building in much of Germany's history. Built between 1884-94, the German Republic was proclaimed here in 1918, a questionable fire here allowed Hitler to seize power in 1933, and it was bombed before its capture by the Soviets in 1945. The glass dome accompanied a major renovation in 1995. |
