| In the southeastern corner of Thurston Gardens stands its clock tower and band-stand, constructed in 1918 in memory of G.J. Marks, the first mayor of Suva; the gardens were originally private, only opening to the public in 1914. Behind the clock tower stands the Fiji Museum, which currently maintains the gardens. |
