Suva's City Carnegie Library was opened in 1909 and bears the name of the Scottish-born American philanthropist who funded it (lending 1500 pounds in 1907 to start its construction).The Fiji Museum occupied the top of Carnegie Library until 1954, before moving to its own building in Thurston Gardens. |
