| The German Maritime Museum, situated around Bremerhaven's Alte Hafen (Old Harbour). One of its attrractions is the Wilhelm Bauer, originally designated U-2540, a Type XXI Kriegsmarine (Nazi Germany's navy) U-boat. Having never gone on patrol, it was scuttled at the end of WWII, raised off the seabed of Flensberg Firth in 1957 and refurbished, fully retiring in 1983. |
