| The best-known feature within Sossusvlei is Dune 45, so-called as its foot is roughtly 45km away from the area's eastern entrance at Sesriem; due to winds, dunes are known to shift anywhere up to 50m in either direction in a month. Standing over 170m, it is a medium-size dune, but one of the most accessible. |
