| The Saint Nicholas chapel, in Valkhofpark, a park set on the top of Valkhof hill close to the centre of Nigmegen, previously the site of emperor Charlemegne's palace in the 8th century. This sixteen-sided chapel, dating from 1000AD, was built from the ruins of the former palace, and is by far the oldest standing building in the Netherlands. |
