| Just to the east of Koningsplein stands Nijmegen's arsenal, built between 1820-4 on the site of the former Mariënburg monastery complex (across from the Mariënburgkapel, off-picture to the left), and was part of the Mariënburg barracks until 1908, when it became a city workshop, and then a municipal archive in 1978. It was converted into a restaurant in 2003. |
