| A provincial war memorial, titled "Saint George and the dragon", stands on the edge of the Martini cemetery at the foot of the Martinitoren. A large bronze Saint George stands in a coat of mail, with a sword in his right hand, with a relief of a defeated dragon - a representation of Nazi Germany - on the stone. Sculptor Oswald Wenckebach completed the momument in 1959. |
